The process of education, the preparation for life, the
development of individuals' capacity to be productive members of society is
the very essence of a strong nation building mechanism. The civil society
depends on educating people to become responsible, thoughtful and
enterprising citizens. Not that our ruling class is unaware of these facts.
They know it too well. And more than half of India's vibrant population
remains illiterate even after sixty diamond years of independence. Added to
this, our schools and colleges are ill equipped, under-staffed and the
standards of education are south bound.
Dhrithi Foundation is a group of
volunteers [See Trustees] who are interested in supporting the cause of education in a
small way as is possible within their capabilities in a small city called
Mangalore in south west India.
The Objects of Dhrithi Foundation are:
(More Information here)

concerning education and career
-
To provide support to improve the facilities in educational
institutions
-
To support the teaching fraternity in improving their skills and
efficiency
-
To spread among the general public such knowledge and information that
would enable them to know their rights and to help them stand up and ask
questions
-
To assist the administration or such other agencies in issues
regarding public health, education or other issues in the interests of the
public at large
-
To educate the general public and students in particular, on various
aspects of health and hygiene
In the
last two years, Dhrithi Foundation has joined hands with Vidya Poshak,
Dharwad, the organization that has provided support to more than 4500
